
Mabs graduated from the University of Glamorgan, Treforest, Pontypridd, his majors were Law, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Practices.He began his career working for a Law Firm in Swansea and then moved to London where he worked for Red Letter Days PLC as an Account Handler. After a successful career there he then decided to work within the financial services sector as an Underwriter for Chartered Trust which was part of the Standard Chartered Bank. During this time within the financial sector and with a background of running family businesses, his passion for entrepreneurship took over and he decided to entry the realm of in business advice and management consultancy. During his time within the business consultancy industry within a very short time he had developed strong relations and worked closely with various clients, banks, government agencies and vertical entrepreneur’s projects. Working with international companies’ such as, Euro Foods Group, Instant Exchange, Link Finance, etc.
Before coming to Venture Wales Mabs started and run his own business which was doing a turnover of £1.8 million which he then sold on and done a strategic expansion plan, where the company now has stores in Cardiff, Newport and Bristol.
Mabs is also well known within the ethnic business communities of Swansea, Cardiff and Newport and plays a very active role. He has also been nominated on the Board of Directors for Newport Unlimited, the urban regeneration company which plans to invest over £1.4 billion into Newport through private and public investment.
In addition to the above Mabs is also a Dynamo Role Module, this is a Welsh Assemble Government Project where he gives presentations to young children and teenagers regarding entrepreneurship and tells them about his experiences as a businessman.
