AGS Security Systems

5 Mar 2007

Right - Left ?Jonathan Turner, founder and managing director of AGS Security Systems, Jamie Stobbs, operations director at moneysupermarket.com and senior advisor for Venture Wales, Brian Colley, securing a business relationship.

Secure contract leads to secure future

A young north entrepreneur has struck a deal to keep the premises of one of the ?s most successful online price comparison websites safe and secure.

?AGS Security Systems now based in Mold has agreed an exclusive contract with moneysupermarket.com to provide onsite security systems and 24-hour CCTV for the company?s expanding site in Ewloe Flintshire.

?This latest high-profile contract win comes just nine months after 37 year old and father of three, Jonathan Turner secured funding from HSBC via Venture Wales to buy the established company from a local entrepreneur Allan Salkeld.

?The former telecommunications specialist and now managing director of AGS lives a stones throw from the company?s new self-contained offices on the A541 Mold - Denbigh Road and has already forecast 20 per cent growth this year as a result of contracts with moneysupermarket.com, Conwy Landrover and Conwy Jaguar.

?Speaking about his first months in business Jonathan said: ?AGS is a respected brand in the area meaning I inherited a solid infrastructure to build the business. I spent the first few months working with my business support agency to create a robust and targeted marketing plan to attract new clients while continuing to provide the kind of quality services to current customers that AGS is so well known for.

??It has been a busy and demanding time but buying AGS seemed like such a natural move.? I?ve always wanted to be my own boss and having worked with giants such as Orange on the commercial sales and marketing side, I?ve spent years establishing networks of contacts and getting to know what businesses in North Wales want and need.?

?Since June 2006, AGS has taken on two new members of staff, relocated the company and is busy preparing the company to break through the ?1million barrier by early 2008.? ??

??We are definitely securing our position as one of the leading providers of security services across north and the north west of .? Longer term the aim is to attract more customers across the whole spectrum of products while retaining our very personal approach?, continued Jonathan.

Venture has a strong track record in assisting business start-up and growth projects and will continue to support AGS as it embarks on the growth stages.?

?Brian Colley, senior advisor and head of Venture Wales? north division said: ?Buyouts can offer a number of benefits to entrepreneurs like Jonathan who are looking to own and run their own business, as it provides a ready-made customer base, highly skilled staff and premises.? We?ve been able to compliment his real flair for business by finding the right financial and business planning to start Jonathan on the road to business ownership and expansion.??

?Moneysupermarket.com first engaged AGS in 2002 to provide CCTV and intruder alarms at the company?s new building at St David?s Park.? It was an immediate choice to work with them again to expand systems to cover their new additional premises said Jaime Stobbs, operations director at moneysupermarket.com. ?

??As a 24-7 information provider it is just as important that our systems are safe and operating around the clock and AGS has proved time and again its ability to provide an efficient, personal and speedy service to prevent any security-related issues we may have.? It?s been great to expand our philosophy of recruiting and retaining skills in the north regions to our suppliers.?

?Specialising in intruder alarm systems, CCTV, access control and fire detection systems for domestic and commercial premises including schools and local authorities, AGS is one of only a few security specialists in north to have achieved National Approval Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) Gold Accreditation. ?AGS can be contacted on 01352 707 888 or www.ags-security.co.uk.
