Navigation Park cements its position as hub for Valleys' business community with new tenant Qualtech 6 Nov 2009

A hi-tech mid Glamorgan business park has secured its position as an important hub for the Valleys’ business community after attracting a major new tenant.
Qualtech, one of south Wales’ leading training providers, has moved its headquarters to the BREEAM Excellent Ty Cynon at Navigation Park, Abercynon, taking 3,500 sq ft in order to give itself capacity for expected growth.
The organisation, which specialises in National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), Investors in People (IiP), Management Development, IT Training and consultancy learning and development, says it has moved to Navigation Park, managed by Venture Wales, the country’s leading business support agency for SMEs, after being attracted by its top facilities, green credentials and outstanding transport links.
Qualtech is part of the Educ8 Group which has an annual turnover of over £2.5 million and employs 46 people across three sites, including 5 based in Ystrad Mynach, 5 at the QED Centre, Treforest and 36 at Ty Cynon, Navigation Park.
Grant Santos, Qualtech’s Operations Director, said: “Navigation Park is a great base for us and we’re confident the prestige of the building and its central location for our customer base can help our business grow. It also has a growing reputation as a strategic business hub for Abercynon and the surrounding Valleys and we wanted to be a part of this thriving business community.”
Venture Wales has invested £6.65m to create a strategic hub for the Valleys’ business community at Navigation Park. “The park offers top facilities including high-speed broadband and good transport links to the M4, Cardiff and the Heads of the Valleys road.
“We’ve attracted a wide range of companies to the site including those working in the aerospace, IT, media, design, training, electrical, housing, financial services, business support and health sectors. It’s encouraging that despite the economic downturn we’re still attracting new tenants,” he added.
